March 7 is a day that will be remembered in Brookhaven for decades as the day the City closed on the funding for its generational plans to establish a sense of place and a City Center with work on the New City Hall at the Brookhaven/Oglethorpe MARTA station.

Following 2 years of negotiation and engagement with MARTA, the City Council approved the lease agreement last Summer. Now, with the money in the Bank, and the City plans to break ground on the construction of the new City Hall this Fall.

Balch Law Group led the efforts to modernize the Lease Agreement that allowed the Transportation Agency to better work with local governments, while achieving a policy goal of the City to incentivize and encourage the use of transportation alternatives. Additionally, the Firm’s work on the funding opportunities to address systemic limits on the City’s ability to further its vision allowed the City to move forward quickly on a building that will be a marker for the City’s future for decades into the future.
