On Veterans Day Chris received a surprise Proclamation, presented by Atlanta City Council Member Carla Smith in recognition for his service to the City from 2014-2020 in establishing and chairing the first City of Atlanta Commission on Veterans’ Affairs.
Thank you very much for that. My former Vice Chair and now Chairperson of the Commission, Brigette McCoy, thank you as well for helping instigate this. I am humbled and a little emotional about this, but I really truly appreciate the recognition and the City’s thanks. Thank you very much.

Chris’ work on the Commission has been extremely important to him as a way to serve to all of Atlanta’s veterans, to increase awareness for the dedication of women veterans, and to address the problems of homeless veterans in Atlanta. He especially appreciates the deeply meaningful connections he made with all of his fellow Commission members.
